When a child seems to be less concerned about the feelings of other people, do not get cross with them. It might be that the child is autistic and you just don’t know it. Sometimes, the syndrome causes them to fail in any attempts or desires to comfort a person who is upset, or even show any kind of affection at all. You want to begin by getting the child to a pediatrician so that they can give you a diagnosis. Kids with autism are not often very good with gestures or speech. It is common to have them delay learning how to speak, with certain severe instances resulting in the child never even acquiring the ability at all. Whats worse is that they are not too good with gestures either, so you are bound to have trouble getting information from them. If you desire to have them speak, which Im certain that you do, you must begin to watch at this time to see if they have any early language skills. Kids with autism have unusual behaviors all the way. They have restricted interests and repetitive behaviors that make it difficult for you or others to spend time with them. However, when they are younger, you might not even notice these things. Only as they age will you find them as a problem, and something that you don’t really know how to deal with it.
